The YMCA Foundation of Sarasota is a 501 c 3 direct service organization (DSO) that supports the Sarasota Family YMCA. Governed by a 19-member Board of Trustees and headed by the President/CEO, Karin Gustafson the organization markets the Sarasota YMCA and raises funds for endowment; capital campaigns; restricted major gifts; and annual gifts.

Throughout the year the Foundation, organizes several fundraising campaigns and events, one of Sarasota’s largest one-night galas “GOING FOR THE GOLD”. Other fundraising activities include The Annual Caring Campaign, and Premium Estate Liquidators (PEL).

The Community Coalition for Children facilitates partnerships between corporations, businesses and religious establishments and YMCA foster care residential facilities. These partners mentor the children; provide outside activities and financial support.

The Sarasota Family YMCA and YMCA Foundation of Sarasota have achieved a harmonious balance that benefits the men, women and children in Sarasota allowing us all to live up to our motto: We build strong kids, strong families and strong community”.
